Kindermusik classes are non-sequential. No prior experience required. Kindermusik home materials include activity books, instruments, and CD recordings -- extending the classroom environment to the home, where children learn best.

Each week you'll dance with your baby in your arms, share songs, lullabies and nursery rhymes and celebrate the marvelous transformations of the first 18–24 months. Joyful musical play stimulates your baby's physical and mental development, engages the senses and helps establish soothing routines.

Wiggles & Giggles all about movement -- wiggles -- and fun, funny words and sounds, and emotion -- giggles! Included as part of the 'giggle', the instrument focus is on silly sounds, like the Zig-Zag blocks included in the home materials.

Take me to the park! Imagine That! embraces the exuberance of the 3- and 4-year-old, and supports the child's natural tendency to explore the world through imagination and play. At Home materials include a Kindermusik Slide Whistle, two literature books, a play set, two CDs and Family Activity book.

Children sing, dance and make-believe their way toward understanding musical notation, structures and styles. Instruments include the glockenspiel and 2-string dulcimer. Classes are non-sequential; all abilities welcome!

Tuition & Discounts

A non-refundable Registration Fee is due at the time of enrollment and covers the cost of home materials, which are distributed at the first class. Tuition is due before the semester begins.

Register before August 15 and take $15 off!

Two siblings who are enrolled in the same curriculum take $30 off their combined tuition.

Two siblings who are enrolled in different curricula take $20 off their combined tuition.

Certified members of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley receive an additional $20 discount.

There is a $25 fee for returned checks.

Choosing a Class

The age recommendations outlined for Kindermusik classes have been carefully constructed to best group children according to their developmental stages. Therefore, it is important that your child be at least the minimum age by the start of the session in which you are enrolling.

Should you have concerns about your child’s success in a particular age-range, please share them with me, so we can together find the best way to meet his or her specific needs.

Tips for making the most of class time

Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early for class. Arriving a little early provides time for your child to settle in to the musical environment, and for you to connect with other parents.

Please keep toys, sippy cups and pacifiers out of sight, and finish any snacks prior to class.

Be sure to dress comfortably.

During class, the most important thing you can do for your child is to be an active, enthusiastic and patient role model. It is not uncommon for a child to attend several classes before feeling comfortable in class. It's okay if your child is hesitant in the group environment. If your child cannot focus on the present activity, don't worry, but do actively attempt to help them refocus or quietly engage them in participating in their own way.

You and your child will benefit enormously from the Kindermusik experience, especially if you make active use of your At Home materials. Many parents report that they see a completely different child at home as they share Kindermusik activities there. Exploring the At Home materials during the week will make all the difference in your child's comfort and security in the classroom.
